“Where do I begin with describing this delightful {site} for a weekend away celebrating our anniversary? It was a very unexpected surprise to find an amazingly-restored house on a lake in the Northwoods. Rachel, the owner, and the innkeeper are a great duo that make staying at Maxsells a pleasant experience. Not a detail went unnoticed in the restoration of this building, making every room a great place to spend the night(s). (and very affordable!) We stayed on the third floor and really enjoyed hanging out on the comfy couches in the living area overlooking the lake, with our coffee. When we arrived - exhausted - on Saturday night, They took great care of us at the bar with friendly conversation. Rachel stopped in a bit later - also very friendly - and all made us feel most welcomed. I really recommend Maxsells for a getaway - especially if you like having access to fun winter and summer sports and a bit of solitude.
