Fulmer-Sells Home, National Historic Register
The 5000+Sq Ft Prairie School home was built in 1899 by David & Lottie Fulmer, logging
pioneers of Florence WI. Max Sells, Florence Co. D.A., purchased the home in 1904 for
his family. It was a residence most of its history except for a nursing home in the 60’s.
Don and Rachel Egelseer purchased the home from the Marlene Dahlgren estate in
1999 and did a ground-up restoration opening Maxsell’s Restaurant in 2006. On the
Historic Register for its architecture, the home and carriage house are on a whole city
block with 400’ on Fisher Lake. It is currently used for long term rentals and as an event
venue for weddings, reunions, & corporate training/meetings.
