Fulmer-Sells Home, National Historic Register

The 5000+Sq Ft Prairie School home was built in 1899 by David & Lottie Fulmer, logging pioneers of Florence WI. Max Sells, Florence Co. D.A., purchased the home in 1904 for his family. It was a residence most of its history except for a nursing home in the 60’s. Don and Rachel Egelseer purchased the home from the Marlene Dahlgren estate in 1999 and did a ground-up restoration opening Maxsell’s Restaurant in 2006. On the Historic Register for its architecture, the home and carriage house are on a whole city block with 400’ on Fisher Lake. It is currently used for long term rentals and as an event venue for weddings, reunions, & corporate training/meetings.

Historic Judge House, National Historic Register

200 Central Avenue Florence, WI 54121 715-528-3000 Webb-Judge House is a wonderfully restored Queen Anne Victorian Home built in 1883 by Robert & Estelle Webb, hardware vendor of Florence, WI Mining Boom and later purchased by William Judge, a logging pioneer. Crown window moldings, a patterned wood floor, winding staircase, and specialty windows and gables are some of its attractive features. Tours and meeting rooms are available by calling 715-528-3000. The House offers Temporary Offices with WI-FI and is also available for Receptions, Meetings, and Cultural Events. Three spacious bedroom suites provide a special place to stay while exploring historic downtown Florence WI.
